Passage to Freedom

Throughout the world, animal overpopulation continues to be a problem.  Puppy mills continue to breed animals for profit and unfortunately not all pet owners spay or neuter their pets, which often results in unwanted litters and homeless animals.

We believe that every animal deserves the opportunity to live a long and happy life.  Little Shelter assists other shelters by taking in some of their animals, thereby allowing them to rescue more homeless and unwanted animals.

Little Shelter makes sure that the animals’ basic needs are met.  Each animal receives medical and behavioral evaluations, a warm, safe place to stay, and plenty of nutritious food and water.  But we go beyond the basics.  The animals receive personalized attention.  They are walked frequently throughout the day and have time to play with our staff, volunteers and other animals.

Little Shelter is proud to be able to offer what we believe is an invaluable service, and we are confident that our efforts make a tangible difference in the lives of the animals we serve.

Our Passage to Freedom Program is just one of the wonderful programs that allows Little Shelter to make a difference not only in our community, but across the world.
